Strange, they're working just fine for me.
Which PekWM version are you using? It's been made under 0.1.12.

Try to run X session with pekwm using xinit method. tty from which you've launched X should tell you what's wrong.

It does work with 0.1.11. The problem is Themes menu, which doesn't apply themes properly when they are in folders with spaces in name. Remove spaces and try again. Or, instead of relying on this menu, modify ~/.pekwm/config to change the theme.

You will have to disable GDM daemon, create ~/.xinitrc file with content:

#!/bin/bash

exec pekwm

reboot, log in and execute startx. Select your PekWM theme and press ctrl+alt+F1 to see what's wrong.

... or wait until I find a way to fall back to 0.1.11

I'll try to do this now.
